Head of Science (Secondary)

Due to growing numbers, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and innovative leader to join the Austin Cove Baptist College Secondary School community. The position will be 1.0 FTE and commence at the beginning of 2023.

The ideal candidate will have teaching and organisational experience in Science in Senior School, both ATAR and General, and be dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative in their approach to delivering the Curriculum as well as having the ability to work collaboratively with the whole school community.

The successful candidate will have a solid work ethic, friendly nature and be a conscientious, committed Christian.

Austin Cove Baptist College of South Yunderup is a co-educational College that commenced in 2011 and currently has approximately 670 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College is situated in the Austin Lakes development just east of Mandurah and provides a high standard of education within a Christian context. Selection Criteria

Essential

  • To have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ including regular church attendance and a lifestyle consistent with the expectations of Christian faith
  • Be highly motivated and organised
  • Have a record of achievement as an educational leader – initiating and managing change
  • Provide evidence of the ability to plan for and teach the subjects within Science, specifically in Senior School
  • Be a qualified teacher registered with the TRBWA and hold a Working With Children Check

Highly Desired Qualities

  • Have demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum requirements set by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority
  • Have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing programs from Year 7-12
  • Be an able administrator with the capacity to think strategically, consult, plan and delegate
  • Be approachable, a good listener and an effective communicator and public speaker
  • Have a commitment to pastoral care and extracurricular activities

HASS and/or Food Technology Teacher

We are seeking to employ a highly motivated and innovative teacher to join the Austin Cove Baptist College Secondary School community. The position will be full – time and commence at the start of term 4 2022. 

The position will be for Humanities and Social Sciences and Food Science and Technology in term 4 with a flexibility in either load for 2023. The ideal candidate would be dynamic and enthusiastic in their approach to Curriculum delivery and have the ability to work collaboratively with the whole school community. They would have a solid work ethic, friendly nature and be a conscientious, committed Christian.
