Health and Physical Education


This learning area includes 90 minutes per week of Physical Education in Years 7 to 12. In these lessons, students learn the basic principles, skills and rules of a range of sports. Physical Education is aimed at allowing students to experience a wide range of physical activities and the pursuit of recreational and competition sports.

Health is taught in Years 7 to 10 and teaches students to make informed choices about a healthy lifestyle. Topics covered include healthy lifestyles, healthy eating, fitness, emotional and physical well-being and relationships.

In Year 9 and 10, students can also choose various electives within this learning area both on land and in the water, which lead to further study of these courses in Senior School.

In Year 11 and 12, students can choose from a range of ATAR and General courses within Health, Outdoor & Physical Education.
