At Austin Cove Baptist College we are proud of our caring environment and our goal is to support each student to reach their God-given potential.
In our daily activities, the core values of Courage, Persistence and Respect are integrated into our curriculum. This supports and enables students to cope with challenges that are presented to them.
In Primary School, the Classroom Teacher is the key nurturer. The Principal, Chaplain and Deputy Principals support the Classroom Teacher and together they work as a team to care for each individual and look after the well-being of the students.
We are blessed to have a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain at our College that cares for the wellbeing, values and spirituality of our students. Christian Education (our ACE program) is an important component of the student's academic programme. The Chaplain offers information and assists students to find a better way to deal with issues ranging from family breakdown and loneliness to stress and anxiety. Our Chaplain provides a listening ear and a caring presence for students in crisis and has a passion to improve the lives of our young people.
Austin Cove has chaplains on both the primary and secondary campus. Mr James Brown is Chaplain for the Primary school (Years 1 to 6) along with Mr Chas Cassey as chaplain in the Secondary School (Years 7 to 12). Student or parents wishing to make an appointment to see a Chaplain can do so through the Student Services office. A Chaplain will then make contact to organise a suitable time to catch up. All appointments are confidential and, excluding special circumstances, occur on school grounds.
